Optima Baron Recumbent kilometer race
Video of me doing the standing kilometer start measuring 333 meters of Kenosha Velodrome 08/07/2007. My Time = 01:20:56 for 1,000 meters. Average speed = 27.77 mph mph/44.69. My best upight 1:15:15 on a motorcycle, but with time I know I will beat this with my recumbent bike. They feel so much faster on a recumbent bike on a bike in an upright position. There are a lot of fun. This was my second day of the race Optima Baron, as you can see from my swing early. I changed the Baron with a bigger front wheel 451hopefully for less rolling resistance. Has to assemble a steel fork with disc brake. I went regularly rim brakes, and used my 62 crown with a 11-34 rear cassette during the race. By establishing the time, we had to swing wide Rounds 1 and 2, to avoid the strip time, as we crossed the start / finish line. Approximated from round to round results of the video: Start End Race@5.5 Lap @ 36 sec 1 sec, 1 revolution = 30.5 sec = 24.4 mph End Lap 2 @ 60 sec, around2 = 24 sec = 31.0 mph @ 86 rounds at the end of sec 3, Round 3 = 26 sec = 28.6 mph Liam John Thanks for filming this.
